If you have an SGSC ID card and want to check out library materials, present your ID card and the item(s) you wish to borrow at the Circulation Desk. If not already overdue, library materials may be renewed in person or through the My Account link at the top right of the GIL-Find catalog web page. Overdue materials must be renewed by Library staff. While a due date will be stamped on the item you check out, you can also view the due date of each item you have checked out online through your My Account in GIL-Find.
The Reserve service is located at the circulation desk. Instructors often put material on reserve for their students such as books, articles, or sample tests. Reserve materials may be checked out for 2-hour loan periods for use in the library. At the end of two hours, students may check out the item again if no one else is waiting to check it out.
Another service provided at the Circulation Desk is Interlibrary Loan. Students and faculty may request materials (books, journal articles) which are not held in the SGSC libraries through Interlibrary Loan. Requests can be submitted in person, via email, phone, or by completing and submitting the appropriate online request form.
For assistance with Interlibrary Loan services at the Douglas campus library, see Yolanda Crosby at the circulation desk, call 912-260-4335, or email your request to email@example.com. You should allow 7 to 10 days for borrowed materials to arrive although copies of articles may be received much sooner.
Occasionally for rare materials, the lending library charges to loan materials. Please let Ms. Crosby know if you are willing to pay the lending library's fee.
